Quote of the Meet:
“Never again am I going on a cool down with the distance kids.” James after 2 laps…2!

Tremendous effort and strong team effort. Anytime you can come to the State meet and place, it’s a huge accomplishment. We saw signs of what we can do and also what we need to do to compete at the state level. As many 10’s as we can get between now and June 7th will be key- starting of what little things you need to do every day and then start doing them. Next grab people to do them with you and when its time- we will be ready. It’s really as simple as that!!!

Take care of the nagging injuries right now and be positive as we ramp up the volume outside- kids are going to need to see that our best are working and this is what they need to do to get better- be the positive change you all mentioned and want to see- it’s your team so act in accordance!

Quote of the Meet:
“If you win the triple jump we win the meet Sami.” Coach Clark trying to relax Sami as she prepared for her last jump- she smiled so it worked!

Congratulations to all who competed and set records, either personal or school. A HUGE congrats to AJ as she becomes the STATE CHAMPION in the 800 meters. She and Isis also join the all time indoor DI top 10 list with their performances (both are 9th) on Saturday. Once you look at what we did it is truly a team effort and one that was ever so close to winning our 1st indoor title. This should be what drives us as we reset for outdoors and allows us to continue to build on what we have started.

The next several weeks we will continue to look for and identify new girls to help us reach our goal. As we saw in the triple jump, if you can take competitive people and coach them to good technique and then allow them to compete- you will have success. That’s how we can take our pieces and keep adding important parts to what we are doing.

I’m proud of you all and I am excited to be your coach!!
