PARENT SUPPORT CHECKLIST

• Donation to the Track Team— We collect (tonight if possible) $10 for each athlete. This is used for the cost of the Banquet, senior night, and hospitality requirements for officials and coaches.

• Concession Volunteer – Parents support the team by volunteering to work the concession booth at one of five CHS sponsored events.

Gathering of Champions 3-16-09 - A non-running event held inside CHS.  Athletes from CHS and other schools have the opportunity to meet/learn from and train with Olympic and other Elite Track Athletes. Parent volunteers provide support for Registrations, Concessions, Hospitality, T-shirts sales and Transportation to/from the Airport for the Olympic/Elite Athletes.

Elk Relays 3-28-09 – A relay only meet where approx 36 teams compete at CHS Stadium. Parent volunteers provide support for Concession, Hospitality, and T-shirt sales.

48 Classic(senior night) 4-8-09 – This is a Tri-meet between the Elks, Fairmont HS, and Alter HS.  Parent volunteers provide support for concessions only. 

Middle School Relays 4-16-09 – A relay only meet for Middle School track teams. Parent volunteers provide support for Ticket sales, Concessions, and T-shirt sales.

Criss & Rita Somerlot Field Event Classic 4-29-09 – This is a field event only meet held for area athletes at CHS Stadium (a very nice rare event).  Parent volunteers provide support for Concessions, Tickets, and T-shirt sales.

• Hospitality Donation – The hospitality suite is a customary area where coaches and meet officials are treated to a meal by the host school.  This year we will host a hospitality suite at the Gathering of Champions and Elk Relays.  Parents assist by providing a food item for the suites.

*We ask all others too please provide a dessert for the Spaghetti dinner on 27 Apr 09. All left over items will be used in the hospitality suite at the Elk relays or sold in the concession the next day.

• Banquet Support: (June 3, 09)

Freshmen:

1. Provide a dessert
2. Assist with break down and clean up after the banquet Saturday 6-3-09.

Sophomores:

• Provide an appetizer

Juniors: 

1. Provide an appetizer

Seniors:

1. Provide a dessert

• Fall Football/Soccer Concessions:  The track team supports the CHS Booster program with volunteers to work the concession stand at the football and soccer games.  We will send out an e-mail sometime early Fall when we get our quota list from the boosters. 

Income from these events varies from year to year based on the weather, which can affect meet turnout. The money raised is used to pay for attending meets, team travel, uniforms and bags, training equipment, team t-shirts and motivational team building supplies, etc.
