PARENT SUPPORT CHECKLIST

• Pay to Play Income – a charge for each athlete that plays any sport at CHS. This income is used to pay the coaches and for some of the meet charges/facility usage charges.  In 2006 this fee was $80, which is billed directly from the school.

• Donation to the Track Team— We ask each family to donate (tonight if possible) $20 for each athlete or $30 if you have two athletes.  This donation covers the team ad fees ($880) as well as donations of cases of pop and water. 

• Concession Volunteer – Parents support the team by volunteering to work the concession booth at one of six CHS sponsored events.

Gathering of Champions 3-22-08 - A non-running event held inside CHS.  Athletes from CHS and other schools have the opportunity to meet/learn from and train with Olympic and other Elite Track Athletes. Parent volunteers provide support for Registrations, Concessions, Hospitality, T-shirts sales and Transportation to/from the Airport for the Olympic/Elite Athletes.

Spaghetti Dinner  4-11-08 – Boys and Girls teams get together at CHS the night before Elk Relays for a meal. 

Elk Relays 4-12-08 – A relay only meet where approx 36 teams compete at CHS Stadium. Parent volunteers provide support for Concession, Hospitality, and T-shirt sales.

Middle School Relays 4-17-08 – A relay only meet for Middle School track teams. Parent volunteers provide support for Ticket sales, Concessions, and T-shirt sales.

Criss & Rita Somerlot Field Event Classic 4-30-08 – This is a field event only meet held for area athletes at CHS Stadium (a very nice rare event).  Parent volunteers provide support for Concessions, Tickets, and T-shirt sales.

Warrior Elk Challenge 5-6-08—This meet is new this year. The concept is to host an old school dual meet vs Wayne at a high intensity level, getting the kids ready for GWOC and beyond.

JV GWOC 5-10-08 – This is a GWOC run meet that rotates between conference schools.  In 2007 CHS will serve as the host school.  Parent volunteers provide support for concessions only. 

• Hospitality Donation – The hospitality suite is a area where coaches and meet officials are treated to a meal by the host school.  This year we will host a hospitality suite at the Gathering of Champions, Elk Relays, Middle School Relays, and the Somerlot Field Classic.  Parents assist by donating a food item or paper goods for the suites.

• Banquet Support-- You will be contacted by someone on the banquet committee with instructions on support for this very important season ending event.

• Kroger Rewards Program-- 1) Get a card from the track parent rep.  2) Load it at Kroger. 

3) Shop.    4) Repeat steps 1 - 3.    5) The track programs benefits.

• Fall Football/Soccer Concessions-- The track team supports the CHS Booster program with volunteers to work the concession stand at the football and soccer games.  We will send out an e-mail sometime early Fall when we get our quota list from the boosters. 

NOTE-- Income from the aforementioned events varies from year to year based on the weather, which can affect meet turnout. The money raised is used to pay for meet entry fees, team travel, uniforms and bags, training equipment, team t-shirts and motivational/ team building supplies, etc.
